my son, 18 months old at the time, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Over the next 8 years, he had a total of three operations, and finally after the third operation, he had directed radiation treatment. Now 18 years old, he has just graduated from high school.
The road to being cured was not known. The longterm success of operations similar to his were still being tabulated, so there were no benchmarks. The doctors provided us with all available literature involving childhood brain tumors and the likelyhood of recurrence and survival. There was astonishing little data. My son is one of the success stories. Group Health, we believe, provided the best medical care available and we have our son to prove it. And not insignificant, we never saw a single bill except for the usual copays.

Group Health has always been good to me and my family.
I’ve given birth twice and both my husband and I have had surgeries and everything was good. I have never had a problem with them, they paid everything. My prescriptions only cost a $5 co-pay.
I know I am one of the lucky ones.
